Direct Support Professional - Lockport - Full Time - Evenings
About The Position
As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you will enhance the quality of life for people with developmental disabilities by assisting, instructing, and supporting individuals living in our residences to be as independent as possible. This role involves promoting the health, safety, and well-being of individuals while building positive, meaningful relationships. You will advocate for individuals in our residences to communicate their wants/needs and integrate them into the community for recreation. Responsibilities also include performing various tasks to promote a well-rounded environment, such as light housekeeping, helping individuals plan nutritious meals, and administering medications as needed. You will also participate in regularly scheduled trainings to enhance skills and knowledge to continue to support individuals effectively.
Requirements
- Ability to perform all job functions
- Valid New York State driver’s license that meets the Agency’s driving policy
- Work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
- Be a positive role model for people with disabilities and other staff
