About The Position
Advocates is seeking a Mentor (1:1 support staff) to support a bright and active young woman with a developmental disability. She and her family are looking for a Mentor to assist her with working on her goals in her community. Goals include: Health and fitness - using the gym, boxing lessons, fitness classes, walking Getting out in the community to participate in activities – going to social groups, taking new classes, going to the movies Independent living skills - grocery shopping, cooking, personal care tasks Seeking someone who is reliable, enthusiastic, creative and active. Related experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred but not required. Reliable transportation is required. Background check, fingerprinting, and DMV record check will be conducted prior to hire by non-profit agency. Please respond with resume or summary of experience. Candidate must possess a keen sense of attention to detail, especially when electronically logging each day's time, mileage, and service documentation. Internet access and a valid email address are required. Hours and days of work Tuesday (9AM-12AM) Full time opportunities may be available. Pay rate: $21 per hour during service hours. The hourly rate for indirect/training is $15.50 per hour. Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age.
- Must have a valid email address.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and auto insurance if required for the job assigned.

- Must be able to tolerate a moderate noise level in the work environment and must be able to handle distractions.
- Ability to handle physical aspects of the job, including sitting, standing, using hands to reach, walk, push, or lift up to 50 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

- GED or High School Diploma preferred.
- Applicable job experience preferred.
