About The Position

The Helton House has immediate openings for full-time Direct Support Professionals (DSP) for our Community Engagement programs. As a DSP in our Community Engagement program, you'll support individuals in accessing and participating in a variety of community-based activities—such as volunteering, attending events, exploring local attractions, and more. You’ll play a key role in fostering independence, building social connections, and promoting personal growth. As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in assisting individuals with daily tasks, personal care, and social activities. You will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of those you support, fostering their independence and enhancing their quality of life. Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Good computer and data entry skills
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Ability to lift and transfer individuals, as needed
Certification in CPR and First Aid (or willingness to obtain)

Responsibilities

Encourage and participate in community integration activities, promoting social inclusion and skills development
Implement individualized support plans based on the unique needs and goals of each individual
Assist individuals with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, and toileting
Support individuals in maintaining a clean and safe living environment
Administer medication and monitor health and well-being of individuals
Document and maintain accurate records of daily activities, progress, and any incidents that occur
