About The Position

Join our team as a Direct Support Professional in Norfolk, near Norfolk State University. The schedule is Sunday through Thursday 7a-3p. As a Direct Support Professional, you will: Have Fun Every Day: Plan and enjoy activities like concerts, amusement parks, and community outings. Make an Impact: Support individuals with developmental disabilities in improving their independence and achieving their goals. Requirements
- Lift up to 50lbs.
- Valid Driver's License
- Reliable transportation
- Satisfactory Criminal Background Check
- CPR/First Aid
- Medication Aide Training
- DBHDS DSP Orientation
- Mandt Certification
Nice To Haves
- Ability to assist individuals with completing activities of daily living.
- Experience through education or work history that demonstrates reliability/dependability.
- Skill to complete satisfactorily: Medication Certification, Medicaid Waiver Certification, First Aid/CPR, Mandt, and other requirements associated with orientation.
- Ability to work effectively in a team.
- Ability to make decisions and exercise good judgment.
- Skill in locating and accessing community resources.
