Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age; must have a high school diploma or GED.
- One year of experience in the field of intellectual/developmental disabilities, or successful completion of training in the Missouri Quality Outcomes approved by the Division of DD regional office.
- Must have a reliable means of communication.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Punctuality and excellent attendance are essential.
- Good computer skills.
- Must possess skills to read and understand written materials and write clearly and legibly.
- Must have a working air conditioner and heater in any vehicle used for client transportation.
- Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, or pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
- Repetitive movements of hands, fingers, and arms for typing and/or writing during work shifts.
- Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
Responsibilities
- Support clients in their daily activities and personal goals as outlined in their Individual Support Plans.
- Accompany clients to medical appointments, recreational activities, and community resources.
- Provide training in personal hygiene, money management, safety, household skills, meal preparation, and medication management.
- Document client progress and maintain detailed records, including daily notes and receipts for purchases.
- Implement emergency and safety drills as specified in the Individual Safety Plan.
- Complete General Event Reports (GERs) and adhere to state guidelines.
- Maintain current certifications in CPR, Standard First Aid, and Med Aide if administering medications.
- Attend meetings and specialized training as required.
- Complete competency-based Community Services orientation training.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
