A Day in the Life: What You Will Do As a DSP, you'll partner with individuals to help them live more independent, community-focused lives. Your day might include: Empowerment & Mentoring: Mentoring someone on life skills, like cooking, cleaning, or managing a budget. Providing respectful, hands-on assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs). Companionship & Behavioral Support: Providing companionship and emotional support, perhaps watching a movie, engaging in conversation, or helping with an evening routine. Serving as a compassionate partner and providing positive behavioral support. Community & Integration: Providing transportation to a job, a doctor's appointment, or a community event like a cooking class or a swim meet. Supporting individuals with their goals, from hobbies to helping them thrive in community-based jobs. Health & Wellness: Supporting health and wellness by administering medications, assisting with mobility, and preparing nutritious meals. What You Bring to the Table (Qualifications) We believe in hiring for heart and training for skill. What We Value (Your Life Experience): We believe you are qualified. We value the skills you've gained through your life and career: Patience and Empathy Creative Problem-Solving Organization and Adaptability Strong Communication and Interpersonal Skills Experience as a Direct Support Professional (DSP), Personal Care Aide (PCA), Home Health Aide (HHA), or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is a major plus. Nice To Haves
