About The Position
We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in our Pre-Vocational Day Program. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys helping others learn, grow, and prepare for greater independence and future employment opportunities.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Strong communication, patience, and reliability.
- Ability to assist individuals with varying support needs.
- Valid driver’s license (if transporting participants) and ability to pass background checks.
- Reliable vehicle and proof of insurance.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in human services or supporting individuals with disabilities is helpful but not required
Responsibilities
- Support participants in building pre-vocational and workplace readiness skills (communication, time management, task completion, problem-solving).
- Lead meaningful daily activities, skill-building sessions, and community outings.
- Implement Individualized Service Plans (ISPs) and document progress.
- Encourage independence, inclusion, and self-advocacy.
- Maintain a safe, positive, and respectful environment for all participants.
- Assist with personal care needs when required.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure high-quality services.
