The incumbent performs troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance on Direct Digital Control (DDC) Systems. This includes troubleshooting, repair, overhaul, maintenance, and servicing of commercial, industrial, and residential heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems up to and including 800 tons. The technician is expected to keep the lead person appraised of unique situations and problems.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Five years of relevant work experience.
  • Certified in the installation of condition measurement field devices, system controllers, network communication devices, and the programming of software for the purpose of web browser interface dashboard monitoring.
  • Must have and maintain current State of Florida licensure and shall have not less than the DDC/EMCS system manufacturer's minimum recommended training, qualifications, and certifications for each type and make of system.
  • Able to work a rotational shift as business needs dictate.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • Ability to acquire and maintain government identification/common access card.
  • Ability to deal with a variety of people in a professional, courteous manner in diversified situations.
  • Valid state Driver’s License with acceptable driving record pertinent to the position.
  • Ability to successfully pass any background checks and/or drug testing required on the contract.
  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • Ability to obtain access to U.S. Government Installations through the Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS).
  • Ability to obtain Government credentials that may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Adjusts, repairs, or replaces thermostats, sensors, thermistor, transducers, actuators, pressure stats, relays, switches, and electrical wiring.
  • Works within the Base EMCS controls network to troubleshoot and maintain systems.
  • Trace and troubleshoot control systems to include wiring, connections, and end devices.
  • Repairs components within a system to include transformers, motors, electrodes, solenoids, rheostats, and aqua stats.
  • Repairs, overhauls, maintain, and services commercial and residential heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems.
  • Troubleshoots and locates malfunctions, diagnoses problems, and determines appropriate repairs.
  • Repairs or replaces components including, electric motors, fans, belts, and pulleys.
  • Services and repairs evaporators, condensers, and receivers.
  • Repacks valves, lubricates moving parts, replaces filters, and cleans coils.
  • Works from blueprints, drawings, models, or verbal and written instructions.
  • Responds to the after normal working hours call outs as needed.
  • Assists other trades and crafts personnel in their daily operations as well as works in coordination with HVAC Mechanics to ensure timely maintenance and repair.
  • Follows established safety procedures and utilize safety protective equipment and clothing pertaining to particular trades or skills.
  • Ensures proper housekeeping practices are observed.
  • Performs other tasks as necessary and incidental to the required work as directed.
  • Adherence to all safety and health rules and regulations.
  • Timely and cost-effective performance of duties.
  • Working closely and harmoniously with fellow workers.
  • Other duties as assigned.
