About The Position

We're seeking a Director of Assisted & Independent Living / Assistant Executive Director to lead our team, oversee daily operations, and create an exceptional experience for residents. This role blends leadership, staff development, and collaboration with sales and clinical teams to drive occupancy and engagement in a fun, welcoming community. The Director of Assisted & Independent Living / Assistant Executive Director will provide operational leadership and strategic oversight for the Assisted Living (AL) and Independent Living (IL) community. This role ensures high-quality care, exceptional customer experience, staff engagement, and operational efficiency. The position works closely with leadership, sales, and clinical teams to maintain census and drive resident engagement to support a thriving community.

Requirements

  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Ability to problem-solve and make decisions quickly and effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with residents, families, and staff.
  • Knowledge of AL/IL operations, census development, and resident engagement strategies.
  • Ability to oversee multiple operational areas simultaneously.
  • Previous leadership experience in Assisted Living Administration, Clinical Leadership (e.g., Clinical Coordinator or ADON), or similar settings.
  • Experience in staff supervision, coaching, and operational oversight.
  • Familiarity with AL and IL community operations and interdepartmental collaboration.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with software and systems used in senior living environments is preferred.
  • Assisted Living license preferred or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
  • An RN or LPN license in the state of Nebraska is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, develop, and coach CNA/Med. Aide and administrative staff.
  • Oversee staff scheduling, workflow, and performance management.
  • Promote a positive, engaged, and professional team culture.
  • Address resident and family questions, concerns, and daily needs.
  • Maintain a focus on delivering exceptional customer experience and satisfaction.
  • Lead engagement initiatives and foster a fun, community-oriented environment for AL residents in partnership with Life Enrichment.
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to achieve census goals.
  • Support tours, inside sales, and follow-up to optimize occupancy.
  • Oversee apartment readiness and collaborate with maintenance teams and sales to ensure a smooth move-in experience.
  • Monitor physical condition of buildings and apartments; coordinate with maintenance on repairs
  • Lead the interdepartmental apartment turnover process to ensure timely and efficient completion.
  • Supervise reception and transportation operations.
  • Ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements, licensing, and organizational policies.
  • Maintain high standards of care, safety, and resident satisfaction.
