This role is essential in creating a welcoming, efficient, clean, and high-quality dining experience for guests through hospitality, food service support, sanitation, and teamwork. Dining Services Team Members rotate across meal service support, dining room operations, guest assistance, and dishwashing functions to ensure smooth daily operations and an exceptional guest experience.

Requirements

  • Alignment with Green Lake Conference Center’s mission, values, and commitment to Christ-centered hospitality
  • Ability to perform physical duties including lifting up to 50 lbs., standing, walking, bending, and reaching for extended periods
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, guest-focused dining and kitchen environment with changing demands throughout service times
  • Willingness to rotate between food service, dining room care, dishwashing, sanitation, and support tasks as needed
  • Dependable, responsible, and punctual with a positive, team-oriented attitude and strong work ethic
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow procedures related to food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision
  • Comfortable working around hot surfaces, wet or slippery floors, cleaning chemicals, and food service equipment

Nice To Haves

  • Previous dining services, hospitality, or kitchen experience preferred but not required — training provided

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests warmly and assist individuals with children, elderly guests, guests with disabilities, or others needing support
  • Provide friendly, professional service and respond to guest questions and reasonable requests
  • Help maintain a welcoming dining environment through attentive service and cleanliness
  • Set up, maintain, and clean buffet lines, hot food stations, beverage stations, condiment areas, and ice cream stations
  • Monitor food quality, presentation, and temperatures in compliance with food safety standards
  • Restock condiments, dishes, utensils, and paper products throughout meal service
  • Clear, clean, and reset tables efficiently between guests
  • Sweep, vacuum, and maintain dining room floors for safety and cleanliness
  • Keep dining areas organized, including straightening chairs, highchairs, and cleaning entry doors and glass
  • Maintain clean, sanitary, and organized workspaces, service stations, and dining areas
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health guidelines
  • Ensure supplies are properly stocked and stored for efficient operations
  • Wash and sanitize dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, pans, and cookware using machine and manual methods
  • Assist with sorting, storing, and putting away clean items
  • Set up and break down dishwashing equipment as needed
  • Remove trash, recycling, and food waste appropriately
  • Wash, dry, fold, and store kitchen and dining linens, rags, and aprons
  • Assist with monitoring dining supply levels
  • Work closely with kitchen staff and fellow team members to ensure smooth service flow
  • Communicate guest needs, equipment concerns, and operational issues promptly
  • Identify and report maintenance needs for Dining Services equipment
  • Follow all safety procedures when handling chemicals, equipment, food, and supplies
  • Maintain a safe environment for guests and coworkers
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned to support Dining Services operations and GLCC’s mission
