About The Position

Join our dining team at Southminster, an award-winning retirement community in Charlotte, NC, seeking full-time and part-time Dining Servers. This role offers predictable income through a consistent hourly wage, rather than relying on tips, along with benefits and a supportive environment. You will be part of a unique, high-volume, fine dining experience featuring 5 venues, a full bar, and banquet facilities. The position also involves special events and catering, providing experience comparable to the finest restaurants. Southminster operates year-round, requiring availability to work evenings, some weekends, and holidays. The company is a drug-free workplace and an EEO & E-verify employer.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must be able to read and write in English, follow directions (oral and written) in English and communicate with residents and staff (oral and written)
• Experience working as a server in a full-service restaurant
• Possess basic math skills and operate a point-of-sale system
• Ability to handle money
• Proof of COVID-19 vaccination, or apply for and receive an approved exemption as a condition of employment
• May require proof of your vaccination status for MMR, Chicken pox, hepatitis and the flu

Nice To Haves

• 1 – 3 years of experience working as a server in a full-service restaurant
• Experience as a dining room server or waiter/waitress
• Servsafe or Tips certification

Responsibilities

• Take resident orders
• Make recommendations about menu items to residents and guests
• Deliver food with a pleasant demeanor and ensure guests/residents are served timely
• Set up tables and provide friendly, responsive service to create an exceptional dining experience for our residents
