About The Position

At HopeHealth, we’re seeking a dedicated Dining Room Service Assistant to bring joy and nourishment to our patients, families, and staff. This full-time position is your opportunity to contribute to an incredible healthcare team while making meaningful connections with those you serve. This position will be based in Providence, RI. Under the direction of the Director of Support Services , the Dining Room Service Assistant is responsible for ensuring the efficient operations of food service for patients, families, visitors, and staff members. This is a full-time 40-hours per week position with the hours of 4 weekdays 11:30am-8:00pm and 1 Saturday or Sunday 6:30am-3:00pm and is eligible for benefits.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Prior experience in commercial food preparation and creation service preferred including following recipes and the ability to breakdown ingredients to increase/decrease the amounts needed
  • SERV Safe Food Safety Certification Required

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, cook, and plate food in an attractive and appealing manner keeping in guidelines of time and temperature parameters.
  • Check daily patient menus with current diet orders.
  • Set up trays with condiments and dishes appropriate for the food items being served.
  • Ensure the maintenance and cleanliness of the kitchen and serving area.
  • Provides service to customers for retail sales in dining area.
  • Washes dishes after each meal and as needed.
  • Check Nurses' station and re-stock necessary food items as necessary. Inventories family kitchenette, nursing stations, fill when appropriate, and orders daily.
  • Maintain sanitary conditions by thoroughly cleaning work area and equipment in the kitchen, per daily, weekly, and monthly printed schedule.
