About The Position
The Williamsburg Inn The Williamsburg Inn, built in 1937 by John D. Upon being hired for this position, you will enter a Probationary status, working up to 40 hours per week. Upon completion of the probationary period, you could become benefit eligible.
Requirements
- 6 months to one year of food service or restaurant experience.
- Demonstrated excellent public contact skills
- Must be available to work all shifts including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to: (1) interact effectively with guests, employees and supervisors; (2) maintain standards listed below
- In accordance with child labor laws, applicants must be 16 years of age in order to work various schedules
- Maintain an upbeat attitude and a positive, enthusiastic mindset.
- Greet guests, employees, managers, and supervisors with a warm smile and friendly demeanor.
- Always treat everyone with respect and work cooperatively with colleagues and management.
- Arrive on time to work and as scheduled.
- Adhere to established uniform and appearance policies.
- Perform assigned tasks accurately and on time.
- Lifting and carrying up to 35 pounds
- Working while standing for long periods of time
- This is a non-exempt position, eligible to receive overtime in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
- This position may be subject to overtime during high peak times, etc. as directed and approved by the supervisor.
Nice To Haves
- Previous host/hostess and open table experience in a five-star restaurant is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Greet and welcome guests with five-star hospitality and courtesy standards.
- Oversees seating/server rotation when seating guests.
- Verifies and makes reservations via open table.
- Maintains a waiting list when necessary.
- Performs other duties as required to exceed guests’ expectations in a five-star dining environment.
