Responsibilities

  • Shrinkage Control: Obtain one subgroup (3 pieces) of green Honey Ceram samples from each available extruder line, and one subgroup of STs for each kiln cycle. Marking and measuring them for each kiln cycle daily. Shrinkage setting shall be reviewed after the subgroup has run for each of the kiln cycle’s shrinkage results. Evaluate Results.
  • After the fire body subgroup has been measured and the results are in the Infinity charts, review the results to ensure that it meets the criteria. Additional Measurements on Contour Machine are needed when the parts are not met. Measure the subgroup on Material Control’s Contour machine and the Technical Leader and/or Supervisor will compare the results against the customer’s specification. If the samples meet customer’s specification, then send the samples to Material Control for additional testing. Evaluation is complete. If the samples fail to meet the customer’s specification, then hold the samples for further analysis.
  • Obtain incoming honey cream from Japan; measure on optibel. Process pellets from powder for shrinkage measurements on the Contour Machine. Recognize defects in production; Hensy-color, Tatagire-Cracks, Tamen-Face cracks.
  • Cradle Control: A. Checks cradles by visually inspecting and touching for damages such as burrs, bubbles, frayed corners, loose bumpers, etc. B. Inspects cradles using micrometers, calipers and other measuring devices. C. Operates HAAS CNC Mill, hot cutting knife, and hot wire cutting machine. D. Checks inventories to ensure that sufficient supplies are available for upcoming product runs; notifies supervisor if materials need to be ordered. E. Assembles and repairs cradles, bumpers and screws. F. Enter data into company’s information systems: Infinity, spreadsheets, etc. G. Uses caution when using cutting instruments; uses proper lifting techniques. H. Participates in PM (Preventive Maintenance), MMOL (Machine Maintenance Operator Leader), and G5S (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) activities as needed. I.
