About The Position

Collaborates with teachers and other instructional staff to develop curriculum materials and specific lesson plans that integrate technology Models the integration of technology in all curriculum areas Facilitates school participation in technology programs and activities Conducts staff development in the areas of technology integration, the North Carolina Digital Learning Competencies, and the ISTE Standards both face to face and online Collaborates with school library media coordinators, Instructional Facilitators and Content Coaches to provide leadership in the school's use of instructional technology resources to enhance learning Follows a plan for professional development and actively seeks out opportunities to grow professionally Implements best practices related to technology use based on research, pilot programs, and state/national standards Works with the principal and school leadership teams to provide access to technology resources and services Works with technology staff, media coordinator and teachers in the selection of resources that are compatible with the school technology infrastructure Adheres to and communicates copyright as well as other laws and guidelines pertaining to the distribution and ethical use of all resources Serves as a liaison between schools and departments especially in regards to technology and school Library media issues Assists School Media and Technology Advisory Committees and/or SIT in effective decision making to promote the media and technology program. Serves on the district Media and Technology Advisory Committee to develop, implement, and update distinct technology Collaborates with teachers, media and technology staff, and students to evaluate and select resources addressing curricular needs and learning goals Leads in the ongoing evaluation of the effectiveness of the instructional technology program Prepares and submits accurate reports as required Advises schools and district teams on programs and processes to promote digital citizenship, social responsibility, and online safety.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in education/ and or Library Science and five (5) years of teaching experience.
  • Knowledge of pre-K - 12 curriculum
  • Successful experience conducting Professional Development
  • Knowledge of technology resources
  • Knowledge and experience with tech programs and platforms for both Windows and Mac devices.
  • Knowledge and experience with Interactive whiteboards, Smart TVs, device casting (Apple TVs, AirTame, etc.)
  • Knowledge and experience with MAC OS and iOS, specifically MacBooks and iPads
  • Experience with teaching/creating online professional development/courses and learning management systems
  • Experience or knowledge of Destiny Library Manager, Powerschool, Power Teacher Pro, SchoolNet, Canvas, Google Apps for Education, iWork, iLife, and web design.

Nice To Haves

  • 077 Instructional Technology Specialist - Computers (preferred) or NC Teacher Licensure + 079
  • Special Endorsement in Computer Education or 076 School Library Media Coordinator
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills preferred
