About The Position

This is an exciting time to be a part of Sporting Kansas City and the growth of men’s soccer in the US. This role requires a unique blend of strategic thinking, user empathy, technical fluency, and business acumen to drive growth, engagement, and monetization across our diverse set of mobile and loyalty experiences. It also requires a genuine passion for creating exceptional user experiences, with a strong focus on user-centric products. You will be the central hub for all things mobile, responsible for creating a cohesive, engaging, and best-in-class app ecosystem. As Digital Product Manager at Sporting Kansas City, you’ll lead the Mobile App experience used by our fans, and drive retention through our loyalty program. You’ll own the end-to-end mobile platform—driving engagement, cross-selling, and retention across products like ticketing, retail and game day experiences. Reporting to the Sr. Manager of Digital Marketing, you will be working closely with design, IT, analytics, and brand, you’ll deliver a cohesive mobile experience through unified navigation, design systems, and cross-vertical feature integration that fuels growth, knowledge of our fans, and revenue. You will also rebuild the current loyalty program.

Requirements

  • Experienced product leader (4+ years) with a strong track record driving cross-functional, cross-vertical initiatives
  • Data-driven communicator and influencer, skilled in defining KPIs, interpreting data, aligning stakeholders, and building momentum through clear, compelling communication
  • A genuine passion for creating exceptional user experiences, with a strong portfolio of user-centric products. Experience with user research and usability testing methodologies is essential.
  • You are comfortable with mobile analytics platforms, A/B testing tools, and using data to make compelling arguments.
  • While not a coding role, you must be able to hold your own in technical discussions to understand constraints, possibilities, and trade-offs with our app vendors.
  • Drive and proactivity - everyone here is a builder and executor
  • 5+ years of professional working experience
  • 4+ years of experience in product management, with a focus on mobile app management.
  • Strong knowledge of loyalty program execution
  • Ability to attend home games and some travel to away games

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or additional experience in lieu of a degree focused on digital products
  • Previous experience in sports, e-commerce is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Lead the entire product lifecycle from ideation, user research, and requirements definition to launch, post-launch analysis, and iteration.
  • You are the ultimate owner of the mobile app P&L and KPIs.
  • Own and evolve the core app experience, including navigation, home screen, personalization, notifications, and shared UX, ensuring consistency across product verticals.
  • Drive a cohesive UX strategy through close collaboration with cross-functional teams and vertical product leaders, aligning on a unified app vision and high-quality execution.
  • Champion a deep understanding of our fans/users.
  • Conduct user research, competitor analysis, and data analysis to identify user pain points and opportunities for innovation that will drive retention and delight through our loyalty program.
  • Leverage data and insights to optimize user journeys, boost engagement, reduce friction, and lead discovery on strategic initiatives like app unification and personalization.
  • Stay at the forefront of mobile technology trends, platform guidelines (iOS and Android), and emerging best practices to ensure Sporting KC apps remain innovative and competitive.
