The Digital Prepress Specialist is responsible for pre-flighting digital customer files, preparing soft proofs, troubleshooting issues, and imposition of files for printing on digital toner and inkjet presses. The ideal candidate is responsible, has a high attention to detail and has experience with customer files.

Requirements

• Knowledgeable and skilled in the usage of Adobe Creative Suite in Mac environment
• Working knowledge of Quite Imposing, Enfocus, Pitstop and/or Switch preferred
• Attention to detail with good verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of file transfer systems
• Trouble shooting/problem solving skills

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or 3+ years in prepress
• Experience with digital book printing a plus
• Experience in print file preparation
• Working knowledge of digital print processes

Responsibilities

• Compare customer supplied file(s) and specifications from our OMS (Order Management System) for accuracy and errors.
• Preflight files and provide customer service with solutions for any issues
• Prepare pdf soft proofs for customer approval
• Impose files for production and specific machine
• Archive working and production files for future reprints
• Constantly assess your workload, keeping in mind priorities and deadlines
• Work with your team to improve procedures and workflows related to the prepress area.
