Growing together The Digital Paid Media Specialist, Paid Social & Display, will play a key role in supporting the execution and optimization of digital marketing campaigns. This position focuses on paid social and display (including programmatic), assisting with strategy development, campaign setup, daily performance monitoring, QA, reporting, and ongoing optimization for both B2B and B2C initiatives. Working closely with marketing partners and internal stakeholders, the specialist will help ensure campaigns follow brand standards, align with best practices, and deliver measurable results. The ideal candidate brings 3–5 years of hands-on experience in programmatic and paid social from a client, agency, trading desk, or ad tech environment, with solid knowledge of digital tactics across paid social, display, video, and native advertising. Experience leveraging 1st-, 2nd-, and 3rd-party data is essential, along with solid tracking and analytics expertise, including Campaign Manager and Adobe Analytics. This role is well suited for someone with a solid foundation in paid media who is eager to continue growing their skills in a collaborative, fast-paced environment while driving quality execution and performance. You’ll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of recent experience in a corporate marketing or advertising agency environment
  • 3+ years leading digital marketing campaign strategy for a department, product line or workstream
  • 3+ years of experience planning, delivering & optimizing Paid Social & Display marketing campaigns using a 3rd party platform (Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, Search Ads360, StackAdapt, LinkedIn, Meta/IG)
  • 3+ years of paid media metrics reporting using Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, Sprinklr tools or similar
  • Experience either client, agency, agency trading desk or programmatic technology vendor positions
  • Experience in managing complex media projects across multiple stakeholder groups
  • Advanced experience managing B2B campaigns
  • Advanced tracking technologies knowledge
  • Understanding of digital direct-response marketing tactics and best practices
  • Passion for digital marketing with an understanding of the complexity of the digital advertising landscape
  • Constantly learning about the ever-changing digital ecosystem - with a willingness to test new tools and technologies
  • Passionate about results, achieving goals and communicating successes
  • Demonstrated ability to work within tight time constraints, providing near real-time insights to team members to ensure targets are achieved
  • Proven highly analytical with advanced problem-solving skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Must have digital marketing experience, preferably in a regulated, performance focused, direct response environment
  • Need to have a thorough understanding of digital tactics specializing in Paid Social & Programmatic Display

Responsibilities

  • Assist digital team members with the development of display and paid social campaign strategy for Optum
  • Manage daily campaign optimization, testing, tracking, budget pacing and performance
  • Ensure campaigns adhere to brand standards, best practices, and meet industry benchmarks
  • Evaluate and improve internal display and paid social processes to support strategic planning and implementation e.g. cost files, partner billing and audience setup
  • Identify opportunities to improve the campaign QA process and overall efficiency
  • Build strategic relationships with marketing partners and peers
  • Influence marketing to adopt and test new ideas, products, and approaches
  • Develop, analyze, and present key findings on campaign performance while identifying areas for improvement
  • This role will be responsible for planning and execution of digital marketing campaigns for Optum
