About the RWA: At the South-Central Connecticut Regional Water Authority (RWA), we provide more than just water—we deliver life-sustaining resources to nearly 430,000 consumers every day. The RWA summer internship program runs from June 8 - August 14 (10 weeks), is a paid internship and allows you to work with an organization that is critical to New Haven county’s success and infrastructure. During this program, you will be given the opportunity to grow professionally as well as showcase your skills and abilities. At the end of the program, you will present what you’ve learned throughout the summer to organizational leaders and your peers. Digital Marketing Summer Intern: Social Media Management: Create and schedule posts on platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn to engage with the audience and promote services. Content Creation: Create posts about plumbing tips, maintenance advice, and the benefits of plumbing insurance. Email Marketing: Develop and send out email campaigns to existing and potential customers highlighting special offers, new services, and insurance programs. SEO Optimization: Optimize the company website and content for search engines to improve visibility and attract organic traffic. Online Advertising: Assist in creating and managing online ads on Google, Facebook, and other platforms to reach a broader audience. Customer Testimonials: Collect and share customer reviews and testimonials to build trust and credibility. Competitor Analysis: Research competitors to understand their marketing strategies and identify opportunities for differentiation. Graphic Design: Create visually appealing graphics for social media, website, and marketing materials. Video Production: Produce short videos demonstrating plumbing services, customer testimonials, and educational content about plumbing insurance. Database Management: Maintain and update customer databases and mailing lists. Reporting: Track and report on the performance of marketing campaigns and initiatives.

Requirements

  • Strong Writing and Communication Skills - Ability to write clear, grammatically correct, engaging social media posts, email content, and educational materials.
  • Familiarity With Social Media Platforms - Experience using Facebook and Instagram for content creation and audience engagement.
  • Basic SEO Knowledge - Understanding of keywords, search visibility, and on‑page content optimization.
  • Email Marketing Experience - Comfort working with email platforms to create campaigns and manage contact lists.
  • Digital Advertising Fundamentals - Basic understanding of Google Ads, Facebook Ads, or other online advertising tools.
  • Graphic Design Ability - Experience using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar tools to create visuals for marketing materials.
  • Video Editing & Production Skills - Ability to film and edit short videos for social media, educational content, or customer testimonials.
  • Analytical & Research Skills - Ability to conduct competitor research, review customer feedback, and interpret marketing performance data.
  • Organizational & Time-Management Skills - Capable of managing multiple assignments and meeting deadlines.
  • Attention to Detail - Ensures accurate reporting, clean copy, and high‑quality graphics.
