As part of our ongoing expansion, we’re excited to offer a full-time Digital Marketing Intern position. Candidates must reside in the United States. The preferred work arrangement is hybrid out of our Irvine, CA headquarters, though fully remote U.S. based candidates are eligible to apply. The SEO Intern will support Vortex’s local SEO and authority-building initiatives across our multi-location network, with a primary focus on backlink acquisition, local search optimization, and scalable SEO process development. The intern will work within tools such as BuzzStream, Bright Local, Ahrefs, and WordPress, and will collaborate closely with the digital marketing and commercial team to improve search visibility, strengthen domain authority, and support growth initiatives.

Experience with WordPress, BrightLocal, or tools like Semrush, Ahrefs, ScreamingFrog
Familiarity with GA4 and Google Search Console
Familiarity with project management tools. Preferably Asana
AI tools like ChatGPT, Perplexity, Jasper AI, SurferSEO

Responsibilities

Execute manual backlink outreach campaigns using Buzz Stream, including contact research, outreach, follow-ups, and placement tracking.
Develop and document a Backlink Acquisition SOP capturing workflows, outreach templates, quality standards, and reporting processes.
Support local SEO initiatives by auditing and optimizing Google Business Profiles, citations, and listings using BrightLocal, including Apple Maps and Facebook setup.
Complete and manage Google Business Profile verification for new and existing service centers.
Conduct SEO research including keyword mapping, metadata reviews, competitor analysis, and backlink audits using Ahrefs and related tools.
Document local keyword targets, naming conventions, and service variations by location to support scalable multi-location SEO standards.
Build and maintain a seasonal local SEO content calendar and assist with publishing optimized GBP posts and listings updates.
Assist with on-page SEO and website updates in WordPress, including optimizing blog posts and local landing pages.
Collaborate with content, PR, and commercial teams to identify linkable assets and PR-driven backlink opportunities.
Conduct SEO research including keyword research, competitor analysis, metadata reviews, and backlink audits using tools like Ahrefs, BrightLocal, and Google Search Console.
