About The Position

The Digital Skills Instructor is responsible for delivering and instructing UnidosUS’s Digital Skills for Life (DS4L) program. DS4L is a 20- hour foundational digital literacy training that covers the basics, including internet exploring skills, communication skills, social media skills, computer hardware skills, apps, software and websites, safety/security, problem solving, and digital content creation. Digital Skills Instructor will take the lead in implementing the program and providing outreach, recruitment, pre and post assessment, delivering the curriculum and goals, supporting learners and data collection as well as reporting data. This position reports to the Adult Education Services Manager. This is a(n) ONSITE position. The Digital Skills Instructor applies the principles of the organization’s signature service delivery approach, Primary Client Model (PCM™), by promoting a positive employee/client-focused experience that is appreciative of the unique strengths, values and needs that each individual brings; and by using data to inform and drive decision making. Requirements

  • Basic understanding of Congreso’s mission, values,DEI&B vision, Mission2Impact, Primary Client Model,programs,and services.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of the community needsand demographics.
  • Ability tounderstand,acknowledge, and assessclientneedstoprovideatimely,trauma informedapproachin service.
  • Ensures theappropriate handlingof sensitive information and understanding for issues such as confidentiality, domestic abuse, child abuse, and mandated reporter requirements.
  • Adheres to all Congreso, departmental, programmatic, and security policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Attends all Congreso trainings and in-services asrequired, including relevant professional groups tomaintainprofessional, requisite knowledge and licensure.
  • Attends,participates, andfacilitatesrelevant staff meetings to promote communication and execution of goals.
  • Ability to effectively use standard office equipment, including a variety of common software programssuch as Office365, UNIDAD, andothercustomized databases.
  • Follows through on assignments,worksin a timely manner, within established deadlines,andcompletes special projects specific to the function of the department, as neededoras directed bysupervisor.
  • Demonstratesabilityto work independently and collaborativelywith diverse groups, in a compassionate,courteous, and respectful mannerthat fostersaninclusive environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skillsincluding effective and respectful communicationwith individuals and groups.
  • Bilingual(Spanish/English)written and verbal skillsrequired.
  • High school diploma or GED/HISET required, some college level course.
  • 1-2 years’ experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Assistsprospective students through recruitment for DS4L program by providing outreach material and following up with potential students.
  • EnrollsstudentstoDS4Lprogram and providesone on oneassistancein enrollment to the class on Blackboard.
  • Deliversand instructsmaterial thatDS4Lprogram provides through Blackboard to prospective students.
  • Deliverspre- and post- testand surveys as well as curriculum assessments to complete program.
  • Hasregular contact with Coordinator as well asUnidosUSandispresentforquarterly meetings.
  • Supportsstudents inattainingtheir digital literacygoals throughouttheprogramduration.
  • Is responsibleforcollecting and sharing data and inputting data reports throughout the delivery of theprogram.
  • Coordinateswith the Adult Education Coordinatorcohort set- upof each class,deliveryand deadlines.
  • Tracksstudents’ progress, daily attendance, and test results andinputthem into the funder’s andCongreso’ sdatabases.
  • Utilizestechnology includingquickbase, email, and web-based applications to deliver curriculum.
  • Servesas coach and mentor to studentsregardingacademic progress,digitalskills, and one on one tutoring.
  • Worksdiligently to achieve programoutcomes asrelated to staff performance evaluation.
  • Attendsregular staff, team, divisional, and individual supervisory meetings, as scheduled.
