About The Position

The Brooks Creative team imagines/designs/curates/manifests creative concepts, campaigns, and assets that define and express the Brooks brand. Web, digital, events, print, retail, packaging – even porta potties – are our canvas and runners are our inspiration. Our growing team seeks a Digital Designer to develop digital marketing creative to support eCommerce, articles, CRM, social, and more. As the Digital Designer at Brooks, you will bring your creative vision, energy, and runner insight to make Brooks the brand runners love. You must be ready to drive any project that comes your way, from concept development, layout, designing final assets, and collaborating with partners in copywriting, art direction, UX, and developers that inspires runners and the run community. The ideal Digital Designer is curious, collaborative, has a keen design eye, and geeks out on user data to inform design decisions. You are all about pixel-perfect design that is knee-deep in the Brooks brand, you build desire for Brooks gear and are honed to attract new runners to Brooks.

Requirements

  • An online design portfolio demonstrating best-in-class layout, typography, and conceptual skills; please add your online portfolio link at the top of your resume when applying
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field; equivalent years of experience can be considered in lieu of degree(s)
  • 3+ years of experience as a graphic designer, digital designer, or visual designer
  • Must have a working understanding of the digital design spaces
  • Proficient in Figma, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and After Effects
  • Experience in mobile-first, responsive web environments
  • Experience in Motion graphics and/or relevant animation experience
  • Experience building wireframes that are informed by research, user stories, and content strategy
  • Excellent interpersonal skills that inspire and build trust and effective working relationships
  • Fast and efficient, with proven project/time management skills; committed to meeting deadlines
  • Able to work both independently within a team environment, and collaboratively with diverse teams to achieve necessary results

  • Ability to communicate design choices in HTML/CSS as relevant with the ability to prototype is a big plus!

Responsibilities

  • Create exceptional digital designs for brand and product content (which includes display visuals, page content, display advertising, social content, motion/animation work) for brooksrunning.com, vendors, interactive retail experiences, and future Brooks digital products.
  • Create designs in Figma for internal presentation of concept directions in mobile and desktop environments.
  • Create static and motion content to drive product conversion and brand engagement on brooksrunning.com, CRM, vendor, and social channels.
  • Ability to problem solve the business needs with multiple designs and concepts, with revisions happening under short timelines.
  • Continually develop your design presentation and strategic skills; push your thinking beyond current projects with an understanding of how digital design solutions made today can affect future applications.
  • Partner with UX designers for exceptional user interactions.
  • Partner with copywriters to develop content for all digital channels.
  • Work on multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Gain and maintain a current and deep understanding of the product, target audience, and competitor activities in the market.
  • Actively contribute to workflow improvements that enable the team to develop best in class digital creative.
  • Take initiative and have ownership in project tasks, utilize creative problem solving, talk shop, ask questions, speak up, have a point of view, think strategically, champion the importance of detail, have fun, wear many hats, roll up your sleeves, and cultivate optimism.
