About The Position

The Boeing Company's Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking a Digital Design Engineer to join their team in Huntsville, AL. This role involves designing high-speed digital circuits, performing signal integrity analysis, and focusing on electronic systems and electrical design, simulation, verification, and validation testing of high-speed printed circuit boards (PCB) throughout the full product development cycle. The engineer will also provide design guidelines and support for system architecture design, board layout, product bring-up, debug, validation, and factory builds. A U.S. Security Clearance (interim or final U.S. Secret clearance post-start) is required, for which U.S. Citizenship is a prerequisite.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of related experience for level 3, 5+ years for level 4
  • Experience in digital circuit design
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus in Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship
  • An interim or final U.S. Secret clearance post-start is required

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s or higher in Electrical Engineering
  • Ability to develop design verification plan and perform system integration
  • Experience in high-speed digital circuit design with ability to perform signal integrity simulations for multiple high-speed standards like 100G Ethernet, DDR3/4, PCIe
  • Experience in processor board design or complex digital design including processor or FPGA System on a chip (SoC)
  • Perform circuit analysis and circuit design and digital circuit design in LTSpice or similar
  • Familiar with high-speed serial interface protocol like ethernet, PCIe
  • Experience in FPGA sizing and power to support board design
  • Strong understanding of PCB in design for manufacturing (DFM)
  • Ability to perform post board layout signal integrity analysis
  • Ability to perform digital high speed design verification and validation including measurements
  • Ability to mentor others and guide other in digital high-speed design and analysis
  • Experience in schematic capture using Siemen (formally Mentor Graphic) Expedition Tool
  • Ability to operate as electrical lead to coordinate the rest of the electrical design team for complex custom electronic systems
