About The Position

The Digital Communications Specialist role is responsible for the digital communication experience of Belk associates. This role will develop, maintain, and enhance communication technologies and graphics to engage with associates to reinforce the Belk brand and culture. This role will lead the digital communications work, partnering closely with HR, marketing, and IT teams.

Requirements

• Experience designing compelling graphics for multiple platforms/uses required
• Experience developing, managing and executing digital communication plans required
• Experience leveraging social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn required
• 1-3 years of experience developing digital platforms and content required
• Strong skills in design principles (typography, color, layout) and software (Adobe Creative Suite)
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
• Strong skills in SharePoint
• 2 or 4 year college degree with focus on visual communication and/or graphic design

Nice To Haves

• Experience with e-marketing software and digital signage software preferred
• Retail experience preferred
• Familiar with web design/development technologies
• Ability to develop a compelling user experience through layout and design
• Video production and editing

Responsibilities

• Identify opportunities and develop compelling visual content for internal digital communication channels, including digital signage, emails, intranet pages, internal social networks, social media, video and more
• Consistently interpret and apply the Belk brand to all communications
• Develop and manage internal-facing websites using various applications and programs including SharePoint
• Develop, design, and deliver internal-facing website redesigns and initial build plans
• Provide expert consultation on digital communication strategies and website design, development, testing and delivery
• Support business partners with graphic assignments for a variety of projects/initiatives
• Requires designated hybrid in-office work schedule
