About The Position

As a Registered Dietitian at The Kidney Care Center, you will be an integral part of a cross-functional team, working with Nurses, Physicians, Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) and Social Workers to care for patients living with kidney disease. We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Dietitian to join our team of healthcare professionals in providing quality care to patients undergoing dialysis treatment. The Dialysis Dietitian will work closely with patients and their healthcare team to develop and implement individualized nutrition plans to manage their chronic kidney disease and support their overall health.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Nutrition or Dietetics from an accredited institution.
  • Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) certification and licensure in the state of practice.
  • At least two years of experience in renal nutrition or a related field, with a strong understanding of the unique nutritional needs of patients undergoing dialysis treatment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively educate and motivate patients and their families.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team, with a commitment to patient-centered care.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in electronic medical records and nutrition software.
  • Ability to project a professional image.
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements.
  • Strong organizational, prioritizing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
  • Working knowledge of computer and software applications used in job functions.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments of patients undergoing dialysis treatment and analyze their dietary habits, medical history, and laboratory data to develop personalized nutrition plans.
  • Educate patients and their families about the importance of following a renal-specific diet, including recommendations for limiting sodium, potassium, phosphorus, and protein intake.
  • Monitor patients' progress, adjust nutrition plans as needed, and work collaboratively with the healthcare team to address any complications or barriers to adherence.
  • Provide ongoing counseling and support to patients and their families, including recommendations for meal planning, recipe modifications, and strategies for dining out.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest research and guidelines related to nutrition and kidney disease and collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement best practices for patient care.
  • Complete necessary documentation and maintain accurate patient records in accordance with state and federal regulations.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
