About The Position

Join our Clinical Dietitian team at St. Elizabeth Healthcare! Evaluate and assess nutritional status of patients. Initiate medical nutrition therapy to achieve patient goals. Establish nutrition diagnosis and develop individualized plan of care with appropriate interventions. Re-assess / Monitor patients to evaluate the effectiveness of medical nutrition therapy and adjust patient's plan of care. Evaluate process towards goals. Accurately assess, prescribe, and maintain nutritional interventions for enteral and parenteral supported patients. Communicate effectively with physicians, nursing, and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient care and timely discharge. Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served including: newborn, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. Serve as a resource lecturer for healthcare providers, students, and the community. Precept dietetic interns for supervised practice experience. Quality: Compliance with all local, state, federal, and medical center regulatory, safety, sanitation, and security standards. Participates in performance improvement (PI) studies, assist with data collections and supports action plans. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a related field
  • Registered Dietitian or RDE (RD Eligible) as defined by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
  • Licensed as a dietitian / nutritionist by the State where work is being performed.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and application of medical nutrition therapy.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-specific, population specific, and diagnosis related care to patients.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, problem solving, time management and decision making skills
