About The Position

Responsible for complete nutritional care of CoxHealth Fitness Center members and clients. Develop and facilitate nutrition programs and classes. Manage nutrition care of members and clients by assessing individual nutrition needs. Prescribe nutrition therapy for clients to include, but not limited to, weight management, diabetes, cardiac, sports nutrition, GI, disease management, and geriatric nutrition. Provide individual nutrition counseling based on nutrition evaluation and assessment. Develop and instruct group nutrition classes and programs. Make appropriate referrals to CoxHealth services and communicate information appropriately to other health care professionals. Assists in quality assessment audits, in-service, and community education programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited University
  • 1-2 years Outpatient Counseling experience
  • Good communication and human relations skills
  • Self Motivated individual who can work independently with little direct supervision
  • Has demonstrated interest in professional growth with continuing education
  • Registered Dietitian with Commission of Dietetic Registration (CDR) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and Licensed Dietitian in State of Missouri

  • Member of Dietetic Practice Group (DPG) Sports, Cardiovascular, and Wellness Nutrition (SCAN)
  • Completion of Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) approved internship, coordinated undergraduate program or Master’s degree
  • Certification in Adult Weight Management of Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
