Clinic Dietician - Bariatric Weight Loss Clinic West Des Moines, IA Monday-Friday 8AM-5PM This is an in-person position $10,000 sign on bonus for external candidates! Why UnityPoint Health? Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, Food Service, or related field
  • Completion of an accredited dietetic internship or equivalent required by CDR
  • Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) with CDR
  • Licensed Dietitian in Iowa (or IL/WI as applicable)
  • BLS certification
  • Valid driver's license for work-related travel
  • Mandatory Reporter certification
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Computer proficiency for documentation and presentations
  • Team-oriented and independent work capability
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written)
  • Able to use standard clinical and office equipment

Nice To Haves

  • 1+ year clinical experience preferred
  • Outpatient experience and public speaking skills preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assess nutrition status and develop care plans
  • Perform and interpret RMR testing
  • Communicate with care team to ensure continuity
  • Support patients in setting and achieving health goals
  • Document care and manage scheduling/billing records
  • Provide weight management counseling
  • Review food records and dietary habits
  • Teach classes and co-lead support groups
  • Deliver education tailored to age, culture, and individual needs
  • Manage and support nutrition programs (e.g., HEAL)
  • Collaborate with diabetes educators and mental health providers
  • Apply current research to clinical practice
  • Develop materials and assist with policy updates
  • Promote services through presentations and outreach
  • Support daily clinic operations as assigned by leadership
