Summary; Responsible for providing technical assistance in identifying and meeting the nutritional needs of residents. Under guidance of Dietician works with Dietary Services Manager in providing quality food service and nutritional care. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Observes patient food intake and reports/documents progress and dietary problems to dietician. Analyzes menus and evaluates dietary histories of individuals to plan nutritional programs. Plans menus and diets or guides individuals in food selection, and menu planning, based upon nutritional needs and established guidelines. Supervises food production and service, and/or assists dietitians and nutritionists in food service supervision and planning. Provides dietitians with assistance researching food, nutrition and food service systems. Maintain the confidentiality of all resident, staff and organization information. Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Preference may be given to candidates with Certification or eligibility for registration as a Dietetic Technician with the Commission or Dietetic Registration, or Certified Dietary Manager certification with the Dietary Manager Association. Previous healthcare facility experience preferred.
