About The Position

Open only to individuals currently employed by Developmental Options Eligibility requirements include approval as a company driver. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES: 1. Position is responsible to purchase and store food and other dietary supplies as well as household cleaning materials and supplies. This includes utilizing food from the Food Bank writing down appropriate substitutions on the menu to use up food in stock before purchasing additional inventory. 2. Confers with consulting Dietician, Nurse, Medical Doctor and other medical and programmatic staff on menu planning and other items as needed. Consulting Dietician primarily writes the menus but you assist with input. 3. Maintains and monitors the maintenance of a sanitary and safe cooking environment in the group home. Inform the Active Treatment Specialist or Administrative Assistant of any needs. 4. Completes all shopping in a manner that keeps the home fully supplied with food and household cleaning items. Responsible to ensure shopping lists match the menus. 5. Help the residents be involved with grocery shopping to the best of his/her ability. 6. Responsible for inspecting all refrigerators and freezers in the group home for proper performance, correct temperature settings, and sanitation. Log weekly temperatures at the office. 7. Responsible for defrosting freezers on a regular basis to insure proper and efficient performance. 8. Assumes confidentiality of information regarding residents, participants and staff. 9. Follows Developmental Options established personnel policies and procedures. 10. Attends staff meetings or in-service training as required.
