About The Position

Come join the Food & Nutrition team at Mercy Medical Center, part of Trinity Health Of New England! We are a member of the nationwide Trinity Health family, bringing compassionate care to our communities. Position Purpose: Performs a variety of manual and clerical duties relating to the receiving, storage, and distribution of all products used by the Nutrition Department. Assists in the ordering and inventory taking functions of the department. What you will do: Receives all incoming food and non-food products delivered to the Nutrition department, verifying weights, counts, and quality of product. Checks delivery invoices against orders to assure that all items ordered were received. Stores all products in appropriate areas ASAP in order to maintain food quality and wholesomeness and in accordance with accepted rotation practices. Maintains sanitation and organization of all storage areas. Completes dry goods orders including paper products as required by ordering schedules using standard par order forms and entering on the computer order system when appropriate. Assists in the physical inventory process as required. Fills order requests from other departments as needed.

Requirements

  • Requires the ability to read and write English and perform simple math.
  • Six months experience in a food service receiving type position required.
  • Ability to operate food service scales and pallet jacks.
  • Ability to evaluate product quality.
  • Ability to organize and maintain a FIFO food rotation system.
