About The Position

Responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction by taking orders, meal delivery, cleaning and setting tables, ensuring clean supplies in the kitchen and opening or closing the restaurant. This role involves taking and writing customer orders, serving food and beverages in a timely manner, and becoming familiar with menu and specialty items to describe them to customers, including ingredients and cooking methods. The Dietary Aid must also note special dietary needs or requests. Other duties include monitoring and cleaning tables throughout meal service, clearing and setting them for the next service, assisting the rest of the restaurant team, and ensuring customer satisfaction by correcting issues promptly. The position also requires keeping the kitchen supplied with clean dishes, pots, pans, and utensils, maintaining kitchen cleanliness during the shift (taking out trash, cleaning floors, organizing dishes), delivering meals outside the building, and preparing "to go" orders.

  • Ability to communicate with and respect the needs of the senior citizen population.
  • Ability to read and speak with clarity.
  • Ability to work with numbers as required.

Responsibilities

  • Takes and writes customer orders as well as serves food and beverages in a timely manner.
  • Becomes familiar with menu and specialty items so that items can be described to customers: i.e. ingredients, cooking methods (boiled, broiled, baked, fried, etc.), etc. Makes note of special dietary needs or requests.
  • Monitors and cleans tables throughout meal service – clears tables and preps/sets them for next service.
  • Assists rest of restaurant team as necessary. Before leaving at the end of each shift, make sure there are no other activities that need your assistance.
  • Ensures customer satisfaction at all times and works to correct any issues in a timely manner.
  • Keeps the kitchen supplied with clean dishes, pots, pans and utensils. Keeps kitchen clean during shift – take out trash, clean floors, put dishes, pots/pans and utensils in their correct location.
  • Delivers meals to customers located outside of the building; prepares “to go” orders in a timely manner.
  • Fulfills other duties as assigned.
