About The Position

Overview We are seeking a Diet Clerk, sometimes referred to as Nutrition Clerk or Diet ary Clerk . U nder the direction of the dietitian, the Diet Clerk performs clinical support tasks related to reviewing and approving therapeutic menu selections. The Diet Clerk will also ensure patient trays are accurate and served at appropriate temperatures . This position is on a per diem basis, meaning PD/ PRN as needed . Shifts Available : Variable Employment Type : Per diem Hours: 8-hour shifts Location : Dallas Regional Medical Center – Mesquite, TX Here are some of the benefits of working at Prime Healthcare: Competitive compensation Medical insurance benefit plan 401K Sick leave accrual Responsibilities Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to): Review and update physician diet orders in the hospital’s EHR to ensure each patient receives meals matching their prescribed diet Assist patients with menu selections, print and distribute menus, and make substitutions when necessary Communicate diet change, allerg y , and preference between nursing units, dietitians, and kitchen staff Enter and maintain meal orders, admissions, and discharges in the dietary computer system to keep records accurate Ensure diet accuracy, follow food safety standards, and support quality checks within the nutrition department Qualifications Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have: AA degree in Food Science/Nutrition preferred. One (1) year of healthcare experience working with modified diets preferred. County Specific requirement. Requirements

  • County Specific Food Handlers certification required upon hire and maintained current
