Position Summary Our Mechanic II are responsible for inspecting, maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing a wide range of heavy equipment such as cranes, loaders, hilos, skid steers and boom lifts to ensure safe and efficient operations. Repairs range from brakes, suspensions, electrical, lighting and mechanical. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, hands-on experience with various systems and a commitment to safety and improvement.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic or similar role
  • Experience working with a variety of heavy equipment, including cranes, loaders, hilos, skid steers and boom lifts
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, fuel and drivetrain systems
  • Experience with preventative maintenance schedules and equipment servicing
  • Knowledge of welding and torching helpful, but not necessary
  • Mathematical and mechanical aptitude
  • Related experience and knowledge of the methods, materials tools and techniques used in repairing heavy equipment
  • Ability to work in shop and field environments
  • Capable of lifting heavy components and working in physically demanding conditions
  • Comfortable working in varying weather and job site conditions
  • Ability to use computers for time tracking and maintenance records
  • Strong communication skills, effective communicator
  • Proven ability to work alone or in a team setting
  • Attention to accuracy and detail
  • Demonstrated safety consciousness
  • Relevant Military experience

Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance services, including 250-hour, 500-hour, 1000-hour, and 2000-hour intervals
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair hydraulic systems
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, including diagnostics
  • Perform basic engine troubleshooting and repairs
  • Maintain and repair fuel systems
  • Work on drivetrain components and related systems
  • Operate torching and welding equipment as needed for repairs
  • Maintain accurate records of daily work, including tracking labor hours in company systems
  • Order parts, enter purchase requests into database, and follow up on order status
  • Ensure all work is completed in strict compliance with company safety policies and procedures
  • Inspect and maintain equipment including cranes, loaders, hilos, skid steers, and boom lifts
  • Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe
