About The Position
Rechtien International Trucks, Inc., established in 1981, is a South Florida truck dealership that provides truck sales, parts, and service for commercial vehicles. Their customer support infrastructure includes over 50 service bays, more than $4 million in parts inventory, and 4 convenient locations across Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, Riviera Beach, and Ft. Pierce, Florida. Rechtien International is an authorized dealer for International brand trucks, Ottawa yard spotter tractors, and new tow trucks from Miller Industries. They also operate as an authorized IC Bus parts, service, and warranty service center. Additionally, as an Idealease affiliate, they offer full-service truck leasing, daily, weekly, and long-term truck rental, and contract maintenance. The sales team is highly trained to assist with all commercial truck inquiries. The Diesel Technician role involves performing quality repairs and maintenance on medium and heavy-duty trucks and diesel engines in accordance with manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
Requirements
- 3+ years of hands-on diesel technician experience
- Strong knowledge of diesel diagnostic and repair systems
- Experience using modern diagnostic software
- High attention to detail with strong documentation skills
- Dependable, safety-focused, and team-oriented
Nice To Haves
- CDL preferred or willingness to obtain
Responsibilities
- Perform quality repairs and maintenance on medium and heavy-duty trucks and diesel engines in accordance with manufacturer specifications and industry standards
- Complete routine maintenance including oil changes, battery checks, lubrication, and inspections
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using current diagnostic software
- Conduct preventive maintenance inspections and correct vehicle deficiencies
- Perform adjustments, alignments, and road tests as needed
- Accurately document all repairs, inspections, and work orders, including state and emissions-related paperwork
- Organize and prioritize work to ensure efficiency, productivity, and safety
- Complete additional projects or duties as assigned by the supervisor
