We are seeking a skilled Diesel Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing our fleet of trailers to ensure safe and efficient transportation operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Strong knowledge of air brake systems, electrical systems, and trailer components
  • Ability to use diagnostic tools and equipment
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and work in various weather conditions
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
  • Proficiency with diesel engine diagnostics and repair
  • Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics
  • Experience with computerized diagnostic equipment
  • Understanding of preventive maintenance schedules and procedures

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years of experience in trailer maintenance and repair preferred
  • Welding and fabrication skills preferred
  • CDL preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections on trailers including brakes, lights, tires, and suspension systems
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues and perform necessary repairs
  • Conduct DOT inspections and ensure all trailers meet safety and compliance standards
  • Maintain accurate service records and documentation
  • Perform welding and fabrication work as needed
  • Replace and repair trailer doors, hinges, flooring, and other structural components
  • Service and repair refrigeration units on temperature-controlled trailers (if applicable)
  • Collaborate with transportation team to prioritize repair schedules and minimize downtime
