About The Position

The Diesel Mechanic will be working on a variety of company owned heavy trucks and trailers ranging from OTR sleepers to Live Bottom Trailers, including troubleshooting and repair: electronic, fuel, ignition, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. While the mechanic will be working mostly independently, all mechanics are expected to be able to work within a team environment to accomplish major projects efficiently and effectively. In this Diesel Mechanic role, you will: Diagnose and repair a fleet of Class 8 semi-trucks and trailers, including Freightliner, Western Star, and some International models. Our powertrains include Detroit 60 Series, DD15, DD16, and Cummins X15. Work with DT12 and Eaton automatic transmissions, as well as manual 10-, 13-, and 18-speed transmissions. Perform routine maintenance and DOT inspections. Use diagnostic tools and software such as DiagnosticLink, Cummins Insite, Wabco, Bendix, Navistar, and Edith. Maintain accurate service records and communicate effectively with team members. Requirements

6 months to 1 year of verifiable diesel mechanic experience
Ability to work a flexible schedule.
Ability and knowledge to diagnose diesel engines, transmissions, and differential projects
Strong communication skills – team oriented
Valid driver's license
Ability and willingness to work after hours shifts.
Ability to lift a minimum of 35 pounds
Ability to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspection
Enough vision to inspect repair work
Ability to use/operate hand tools, power tools, and other heavy machinery
Ability to pass a drug and alcohol screen

Nice To Haves

Have a CDL or are willing to obtain one
Hold ASE certificates in HD trucks.
Hold a State of Michigan heavy-duty mechanic license
Are familiar with fleet maintenance software
Take pride in keeping trucks safe, reliable, and road-ready in a timely manner
