About The Position

Miller Transportation Group, a family-owned and operated leader in the transportation industry since 1912, is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic Technician for its Miller Truck Leasing division in Hartford, CT. The company, headquartered in Lumberton, New Jersey, operates several business units including Miller Truck Leasing, Miller Dealerships, Miller Dedicated Services, and Miller Brokerage Services. Miller Truck Leasing is the largest privately-held truck leasing company on the East Coast, providing full-service leasing, finance leasing, truck rental, and truck maintenance programs. With over 100 years of experience and upwards of 8,000 trucks on the road, Miller operates over 40 Diesel Maintenance shops across multiple states. Requirements

• Prior experience as a fleet mechanic, diesel mechanic, or heavy equipment mechanic
• Experience or formal training diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining Class 1-7 diesel tractors
• Preventative Maintenance and Repair experience on diesel tractors
• A valid CDL (Class A or B)
• Hand tools
• Ability to work: Monday - Friday from 2:00 PM until 10:30 PM (B Level Tech)

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventative maintenance and general reconditioning of equipment on Class 1 through Class 8 vehicles
• Diagnose, document, and repair engine fault codes (Company supplied OEM software) following proper warranty procedures
• Repair / Replace brakes, steering components, suspension, and perform alignments
• Replace clutches & transmissions
