About The Position

Amerit Fleet Solutions, one of the leading fleet maintenance companies in the US, is looking to hire a skilled Diesel & Equipment Mechanic in Concord, CA! The Automotive Technician is responsible for the timely repair and maintenance of light to medium-duty fleet vehicles to ensure a safe and efficient operation. Must be well-versed with Diesel up to F450's and Automotive Fleet vehicles. Plus, our location has Aerial/Hydraulic equipment and small engine generators. We are looking for an experienced technician who is well versed in both diesel and gas engine vehicles. The ideal candidate will have strong customer service skills, solid computer proficiency, and a flexible mindset with the ability to work on multiple vehicles from light, medium, heavy and trailer equipment while completing a variety of services and repairs.Strong electrical diagnostic skills are required. Aerial/hydraulic equipment experience and small engine repair experience like generators are a plus.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years’ experience performing vehicle maintenance, or experience with Light, Medium-Duty Vehicles, and some Heavy-Duty Trailers.
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License
  • Proficient computer skills: knowledge of Excel, Word, Fleet Management Systems, and Email
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills (documentation, communication with peers, supervisors, etc.)
  • Must be able to operate a manual transmission vehicle to determine if it is operating properly
  • Must provide own hand tools & toolbox.

Nice To Haves

  • Aerial/hydraulic equipment experience and small engine repair experience like generators are a plus.
  • Strong electrical diagnostic skills

Responsibilities

  • Prepare vehicle records and report both manually and on a computer
  • Perform repairs and preventative maintenance to light and medium-duty vehicles
  • Perform safety inspections of equipment and prepare the safety documentation required
  • Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures
  • Inspect and perform work on the underparts of vehicles
  • Access any area of the equipment or vehicle to perform necessary maintenance
  • Move parts to and from the job site and remove or install these parts on vehicles
  • Interact with clients through both email and phone as necessary
  • Perform other duties as required
