As we continue to grow and expand, Blaine Brothers Baldwin, WI has an opening for a technician (preferred 1-2 years experience) in our Diesel Truck and Trailer Shop. We are looking for someone detail oriented, with a strong mechanical aptitude, and strong work ethic. The job handles the complete repair and maintenance of semi-trailers and heavy-duty trucks. Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of internal engine experience
  • Great work ethic
  • Willingness to jump in and help out where needed
  • Attention to detail
  • Mechanical aptitude with basic electric diagnostic / troubleshooting experience or technical training
  • Clean driving record
  • Basic tool set and tool box for heavy truck repair to start (assistance programs available)
  • Ability to lift 50-100 lbs. occasionally and 10-50 lbs. frequently
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Reliability and a dedication to be a hard worker
  • Ability to work independently maintaining a safe, efficient, and friendly work environment
  • Honesty and respect

Nice To Haves

  • Welding experience (a plus)
  • DOT certification (a plus)
  • CDL (a plus)

Responsibilities

  • Perform repair on diesel trucks
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, disassemble vehicles and examine parts for defects and excessive wear
  • Correct vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems, such as, power and drive trains, electrical, air conditioning, fuel, emission, brake, steering, hydraulics; completes machine shop operations; make adjustments and alignments including bearing loads, gear tooth contact, valve mechanisms, governors, oil systems, control linkages, clutches, and traction units
  • Inspect the overall condition of trucks to ensure that they meet U.S. Department of Transportation's safety requirements
  • Compile inspection reports detailing their findings
  • Track all parts and materials used in repairs or replacements
  • Ensure the final work product meets quality standards
  • Maintain a safe and clean work area for customers and co-workers
