About The Position

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Other duties may be assigned. Demonstrate ability to recognize and explain the function (including controls, mechanical devices, tooling components and auxiliaries) of the type of presses found in the facility. Demonstrate an expert working knowledge of material/part conformance standards and basis SPC recording techniques. Demonstrate leadership qualities and communication skills. Foster an environment of continuous learning and process improvement. Understand basic principles of machining, electricity/electronics, mechanical technology, metallurgy, material handling, and/or power systems. Demonstrate ability to maintain a clean and orderly work area in compliance with facility housekeeping policies. Demonstrate ability to use prints, charts, technical drawings, and/or schematics. Perform basic corrective or preventive maintenance. Must be able to recognize equipment problems and adverse material conditions. Demonstrate an expert understanding of metal stamping processes and auxiliaries such as coil-fed, manual feed, coining operations, embossing, forming, blanking, piercing, and/or drawing. Show familiarity in the use of calipers, micrometers, scales/tape measure, verniers, squares, speciality gages, protractor, sight gages, attribute and fixture gages. Be able to inspect and prepare work station. Prepare die for installation. Set-up press and install die. Request and verify raw material/stock. Prepair and adjust uncoiler (coil fed only). Prepare and adjust straightener (coil fed only). Prepare and adjust feeder. Start, stop and restart equipment. Make a quality piece part. Produce parts (operate equipment). Be familiar with all safety features and requirements for the safe operation of equipment/machinery. Understands and enforces all safety rules and environmental procedures in plant.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Fork Lift operators license.
