About The Position

Supports the activities of Die Change group within the Die Casting Department for a designated shift(s) to assure achieving the production schedule changes. Scope of Responsibilities: Leads, coordinates, and/or participates in a various activity including die and trim die changes; troubleshooting and repair of production equipment; preparing production, scrap, inventory, and other production-related reports; and implementation of production improvement objectives. Applies good 3S and 5S practices of all equipment and facilities within assigned area. Assures that procedural discipline is consistently applied in every job function.

Requirements

Must have understanding of the die casting processes, die casting machines, and ancillary equipment; and no less than 6 months of progressively responsible die casting operation.
Must have basic verbal and written communication skills; basic organizational skills; basic computer skills to work in spreadsheets, graphs, and word processing for preparing reports; good problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

Weld experience preferred but can train the right candidate.

Responsibilities

Welds and repairs ladles.
Performs daily checks of ladle pour position and helps in improvement.
Welds and helps repair machine and sleeve bushings.
Performs inventory of all die change supplies and work with Division Leader to order as needed.
Communicates with and coordinates information flow with other divisions and departments pertaining to parts quality issues within assigned production area(s).
Promotes and participates in 5S audits to improve overall 5S in division.
Participates in die and trim press die changes as need as back up.
Participate in the troubleshooting and repair of any production equipment problems to assure meeting production schedules.
Comply with Safety Procedures on the floor.
Works under the supervision of the Division Leader to complete training in order to meet all production, maintenance, safety, quality, and other required skills/knowledge as well as providing ongoing training to continually level up their skills.
