About The Position

DaVita is looking for a Dialysis Tech (PCT) to serve patients at their Dover Dialysis Center in Dover, OH. The role involves direct one-on-one patient care, providing safe, comfortable, and hygienic dialysis treatment. PCTs are responsible for technician duties such as preparing the water room, testing water for chlorine, and calibrating tools. They monitor patients before, during, and after dialysis treatment, including measuring and recording stats, patient observations, and hemodialysis machine setup. The position requires building long-term relationships with patients suffering from end-stage renal disease and educating them on Kidney Dialysis related topics. PCTs work within a cross-functional team of clinicians including technicians, nurses, dietitians, social workers, and leadership, under the supervision of an RN. DaVita offers a robust, paid training program for new dialysis teammates, which includes classroom and hands-on training, and provides reimbursement for the Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHT) license. Requirements

  • Dependable and reliable (attendance is crucial).
  • Comfortable in high stress and fast-paced environments.

  • Impeccable work ethic.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be comfortable working around blood and needles.
  • Must be comfortable mixing acid or bicarb.
  • Flexibility and availability to work mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Physical and mental ability to work long hours (some shifts are 12+ hours) on your feet.
  • Willingness to train and work across multiple clinics within the territory as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Health care experience preferred including: BONENT Certified, Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHT), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), or Phlebotomy certification.

Responsibilities

  • Serve patients at the Dover Dialysis Center.
  • Provide direct one-on-one patient care to ensure safe, comfortable, and hygienic dialysis treatment.
  • Care for up to 4-5 patients at a time.
  • Prepare the water room and bicarb for patients (opening PCT duty).
  • Test water for chlorine.
  • Check to make sure tools are calibrated.
  • Monitor patients before, during, and after dialysis treatment.
  • Measure and record patient stats.
  • Perform patient observations.
  • Set up hemodialysis machines.
  • Build long-term relationships with patients.
  • Educate patients on Kidney Dialysis related topics.
  • Work under the supervision of an RN.
  • Continuously look for ways to improve processes for patients and teammates.
  • Train and work across multiple clinics within the territory as needed.
