About The Position

As the Diagnostics Strategy Enhancement Lead, you will drive the evolution of vehicle diagnostics within the Diagnostic Advanced Analysis team. This critical role focuses on developing innovative strategies and transforming diagnostic data into actionable insights, ultimately improving vehicle quality, design, and service efficiency across all Ford and Lincoln products. Possess a strong understanding of vehicle electrical architectures and communication protocols. Collaboration & Communication: Excellent communication, presentation, and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively engage with cross-functional teams and present technical information to diverse audiences. Experience: 10+ years of experience in automotive diagnostics, data science, or related advanced engineering fields, with at least 3 years in a leadership or strategic role. Experience launching new vehicles with a track record of achieving plant quality targets. Technical Expertise: Experience with advanced analytics, machine learning (ML) applications in diagnostics, and cloud-based data platforms. Familiarity with Ford diagnostic tools such as Ford Integrated Diagnostic System (IDS), Ford Diagnostic and Repair System (FDRS), and On-Board Diagnostics (OBD-II) systems. Ford-specific knowledge: Strong familiarity with Ford product development deliverables and engineering tools (e.g., AVBOM, WERS, AIMS, 5Ds, eFDVS, Jama, Engineering Sign Off, DFMEA, Six Sigma, Confluence, and Jira). Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Analyze Diagnostic Data for Insights: Lead ongoing analysis of vehicle diagnostic data to identify emerging issues and trends (DTCs, FDS), delivering actionable recommendations to engineering, manufacturing, and service teams.
  • Enhance Diagnostic Design via Feedback: Drive diagnostic design enhancements by collaborating with cross-functional teams (Product Digital Integrity, FASTT, FCSD) to analyze high-priority warranty claims, providing data-driven feedback for improved accuracy and efficiency.
  • Improve & Validate Diagnostic Processes: Optimize and document diagnostic processes, establishing best practices and validating the real-world effectiveness of diagnostic design changes and new requirements after implementation.
  • Define & Configure New Failure Signatures: Define and establish new digital failure signatures (including DTCs), integrating regulatory, top warranty, and functional safety requirements in collaboration with relevant teams.
  • Ensure Data Accessibility & Strategic Deployment: Develop and implement strategies to ensure new diagnostic data and failure signatures are readily accessible and consumable across the vehicle lifecycle, supporting manufacturing plants and dealerships.
  • Expand Diagnostic Coverage & Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with internal teams (FASTT, Feature System Engineering, Hardware) to expand comprehensive diagnostic coverage for all critical vehicle features and functions by defining new failure signatures and DTCs.
  • Manage & Coordinate Implementation: Serve as the Diagnostic Team's Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for Technical Program Management (TPM) regarding the implementation of Vehicle Digital Signatures of Failure.
  • Oversee Performance Monitoring: Manage and coordinate the implementation of the Vehicle Performance & Usage Monitoring System and Insights Touchpoint.
  • Drive Service Efficiency: Define the Service Efficiency Process and develop strategic plans leveraging Vehicle Digital Signatures of Failure.
