Diagnostic Medical Sonographer General The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer II is responsible for reviewing the Physician Order and reason for exam and prepares the patient for the exam/procedure. The Sonographer performs a variety of specialized medical ultrasound examinations/procedures to obtain high quality images for diagnostic interpretation in accordance with departmental protocols. Sonographer II also performs vascular exams under the direct supervision of an RVT or Radiologist. The Sonographer may also assist the physician with US-guided procedures. The Sonographer works closely with the Ultrasound leadership and Radiologists. The Sonographer performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgment, with integrity and initiative.
