General Description: Diagnostic medical physicists or sometimes referred to as medical physicists, diagnostic physicists or simply as physicists at OU Health are qualified experts in medical physics as defined by the American College of Radiology, the American Association of Physicists in Medicine, and other related professional organizations. The medical physicists provide essential administrative, organizational, structural and technical expertise that keeps the hospitals and clinic functioning smoothly, safety, and at a state-of-the-art technical and clinical levels in a technically complex environment. At OU Health their main area of expertise is in nuclear medicine and diagnostic imaging including X-ray, CT, MRI, mammography and ultrasound.
