About The Position

Are you a Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) or Radiologic Technologist (RT) looking to apply your imaging skills in a unique and rewarding hospital environment? The University of Florida Veterinary Hospitals is seeking a motivated technician to join our Diagnostic Imaging team. In this role, you will perform high quality imaging across multiple modalities, including radiography (digital, portable, and interventional), Fluoroscopy, CT, MRI, ultrasound, and nuclear medicine. You’ll support both small and large animal services in a fast-paced teaching hospital and work closely with Radiologists, Residents, and other skilled technicians. The typical schedule will be Monday through Friday 9:30am -6:00pm, but the schedule may change based on hospital and patient care needs. This individual is considered essential personnel which may include reporting to work during holidays and Main Campus closures. Expected Salary: Non-Credentialed: $18 - $25 Credentialed: $20 - $28, Salary based on credentials and experience

Requirements

  • Technician I - High school diploma or equivalent and one year relevant experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
  • Technician II - Credentialed veterinary technician and VTS specialty in Diagnostic imaging or credentialed in a specific diagnostic modality.
  • CVT or RT with strong imaging skills and interest in veterinary patients
  • Excellent communication and teamwork
  • Compassionate patient handling and a positive, proactive attitude
  • Ability to work efficiently in a dynamic hospital setting
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 lbs, bend, kneel, pull, push, twist and stand for an extended period of time.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with radiographic imaging
  • Credentialed veterinary Technician OR Registered Radiological Technologist
