About The Position

The Diagnostic Application Support Specialist is responsible for providing day to day technical and application support for laboratory information systems and related diagnostic applications. This role ensures the reliable operation of core laboratory systems, connected instruments, and ancillary applications by troubleshooting technical issues, supporting change management activities, and maintaining documentation that enables stable laboratory operations. The position plays an important role in identifying recurring issues, supporting break fix activities, and collaborating with operational teams to improve application performance and workflow efficiency.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Provide first line support for laboratory information systems and diagnostic applications.
  • Resolve application issues in accordance with established change management practices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve break fix incidents following defined standard operating procedures.
  • Monitor system performance across databases, interfaces, and connected applications.
  • Resolve technical issues related to instrument connectivity and interface performance.
  • Support ancillary laboratory systems including label printing, scanning, and external application access such as MYLA and VITEK.
  • Ensure stable communication between laboratory instruments and core applications.
  • Gather examples of recurring application issues and identify opportunities for workflow improvement.
  • Translate operational needs into clearly defined business requirements for system enhancements.
  • Create, maintain, and update technical and operational documentation.
  • Work closely with laboratory operations and technical teams to ensure rapid issue resolution.
  • Support application reviews and participate in improvement discussions for specific system areas.
