About the Role MiniMed is seeking a Diabetes Clinical Educator (DCE) to deliver training, education, and ongoing support for patients using MiniMed products. The DCE ensures optimal patient outcomes through effective product training and works closely with the Clinical Territory Manager and Clinical District Manager, providing education across multiple territories. This is a field based position that will support our Richmond/Tidewater, VA Territory. The expectation is to be in the field 2-3 days/week and remote the remaining time. Facilitates individual and group education—both in-person and virtually—on MiniMed products, including webinars, conference calls, and computer-based trainings. Provides ongoing patient educational support through support calls, pilot training initiatives, and proactive outbound calls to patients at risk for therapy attrition, aiming to recapture or re-engage patients. Coordinates and plans group trainings and events in alignment with territory teams and district training goals, including logistics, attendee invitations, facilitation, and post-event follow-up. Submits accurate and legible training documents within 48 hours of session completion. Collaborates with territory teams on therapy changes, CareLink files, and other patient-related topics for effective follow-up with healthcare professionals. Actively participates in district and territory planning sessions.

Requirements

  • A valid registered license in one or more of the following fields:
  • Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES)
  • Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Registered Dietitian (RD)
  • Physician Assistant (PA)
  • Nurse Practitioner (NP)
  • Pharmacist
  • AND Associate’s Degree and 2 years of clinical experience OR Bachelor’s Degree and 0 years of experience
  • Must have a valid driver's license and active vehicle insurance policy.
  • In addition, your driving record will be reviewed and will be considered as part of your application.
  • Must be able to drive approximately 75% of the time within assigned territory and may require overnight travel.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Pump Trainer or experience training customers on insulin pumps
  • Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) / Certified Diabetes Care And Education Specialist (CDCES)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the diabetes disease state and experience training/educating patients on Medtronic products and technologies
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, or on call periodically
  • Experience with Zoom, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
