The State of Nebraska, Department of Health and Human Services, is seeking a Child Support Administrator I for the Office of Economic Assistance. This position provides leadership as a member of the child support administrative team and provides direction for several child support units within Central Office. Lead efforts with subordinate managers to plan, organize, implement, and monitor projects to increase performance and meet operational goals. Collaborate and communicate with administration and staff for developing and implementing strategies for continuous improvement. Work with other leaders to integrate child support services with all programs administered by the Department of Health and Human Services. Create a stable and positive environment for staff. Build and maintain positive team environments both internally and externally to ensure the provision of quality programs and services to the public. Develop and implement quality enhancing program policies, procedures, and plans to evaluate program performance and service delivery. Develop and implement action plans to address areas of improvement to ensure clients' needs are met and compliant with program and funding requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in public administration, social work, human development, public health, behavioral science, law, finance, human resources or other program related field AND two years of experience in a field related to the assigned program area including supervisory experience; OR a Master's degree in any of the above-mentioned fields.
  • Experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.

Nice To Haves

  • Five years’ experience in management.
  • Progressive experience in work related to the child support program.
  • Experience interpreting and complying with federal and state regulations.
  • Experience in research, monitoring, budgeting, and reporting.
